What UKVI Looks For in a Flight Reservation

UKVI caseworkers are trained to assess credibility on two key fronts: the genuineness of the visit, and the credibility of the applicant's intent to leave the UK at the end of the visit. The flight reservation feeds into both. Specifically, they want to see:

• Two-way itinerary: entry into the UK and a confirmed departure flight, both with real airline reference codes. A one-way reservation reads as an overstay risk.
• Travel dates that align with the visa application form: the dates you have stated as your intended visit must match the flight document.
• A first port of entry consistent with your visit purpose: if you are visiting a relative in Manchester, an LHR-only itinerary with no internal connection looks inconsistent.
• PDF format with airline name, flight numbers, full route and PNR clearly visible — UKVI does not accept screenshots, photographs of screens, or low-resolution copies.
